It’s release day, and a huge congratulations to Ryan Lanz who’s releasing his fifth book in the Red Kingdom series – The Promise of Scars.
I was first introduced to the series a few years ago and dove straight in, and was immediately impressed with the exciting plot and the beautiful world building. I read book 2 last fall, and while I preferred book 1 in the series, I’m excited to carry on with the story in book 3—as soon as I get through what I’m reading at the moment. I’m on a real fantasy binge at the moment, and I’m looking forward to another Lanz book.
Ryan Lanz’ strengths lie in his characters, there’s a ton of parallel plots and paths to follow through the books and every character is more interesting than the next. Personally, I will always love Gobo, but what pqrticularly intriguied me with book 2 was that we dove deeper into the minds of villains. I hope that carries on in book 3.
Anyway! Lanz is releasing his fifth book today, so if you’re looking for your next favorite fantasy series and you’re of a mind to read and support hard-working, up and coming fantasy authors, why not give this one a spin? I got to get to it, clearly, because I’m a couple of books behind.

Conquest is just the beginning.
