Author of dark things – thrilling novels and haunting stories
In an attempt to go through a ton of my old writing, in what I'm calling my Year Of A Thousand Projects, I'm trying very hard to not write anything new. Sure, there's an odd short story here and there, when I feel the itch in my typing fingers become too much after seeing a... Continue Reading →
Ugh, I've been so busy I almost forgot April's first blog post! I said it earlier this year - here - that in 2024 I would focus on going through a lot of old stuff. Things I've written ages ago that I've left to simmer for so long now that I've almost forgotten about them... Continue Reading →
Okay, so you've written and a book. You're sitting there with a manuscript in your hands and you're finally thinking, this is done now! That's like, the most demanding, most draining hard work you've ever done, probably, and now you're finished! Congratulations. Pat yourself on the back and tell yourself well done, because honestly, you've... Continue Reading →
Ugh, does it ever get easier? Last year, I submitted a horror novella to an indie press. It was a story that I had started ages ago, something that kind of never went anywhere, until I suddenly knew exactly where to take it. I had heard about the indie press for a while by then,... Whoa - that year went by fast, didn't it? I have so much to be grateful for, and so many people I would like to thank for what has happened in the last 12 months. I wish I could reach out to all of you individually, but I imagine 2024 would be gone as well... Continue Reading →
Hey gang! Just wanted to take the opportunity to mention a few things I've appeared on lately. I know most people prefer to catch these things live, but just in case you need something to watch during those incredibly boring and/or tense family gatherings that are coming up toward the end of the month, here's... I'm very excited to share the news that the Lost Boys Press anthology I wrote for - Empire of Beasts - and my short story The Hunt is out today! Empire of Beasts is an "anthology of the unhuman" and it's full of excellent fantasy stories. The half-human inhabitants of the Amalgamal hurtle through space... Continue Reading →
Two and a half years ago - because the world was closed down and I had nowhere to go - I sat down to write a book. Two weeks later, I had a finished draft. Since then, I haven't even looked at that draft, not even once. Not until now, when I suddenly found myself... Continue Reading →
